Sponsored by: Arachas Winner: Peter Ireton Peter Ireton is the founding chief executive of Bothar, the NGO that uses livestock in development aid. Under Peter's leadership Bothar has grown from a one-person operation in 1991 to having an annual turnover of more than €10 million last year. The organisation focuses on establishing micro-farming units for impoverished families, providing training and veterinary support along with a food and income-producing gift of livestock. Peter also developed a revolutionary pass-on system requiring each recipient family to pass on an equivalent gift of livestock to another trained and impoverished family.

Sponsors: Sooner Than Later Winner: Concern (Help Concern without Spending a Cent)Did you know that there are millions of Euro sitting in government coffers which, with the swipe of your pen, could be saving lives? So begins Concern's creative fundraising campaign, "Help Concern without Spending a Cent." The campaign is based on the fact that charitable donations over €250 in a single year are tax efficient. However, in order for a charity to reclaim that tax, the donor's permission is required. With an estimated €3.5 million potentially available to Concern in reclaimed tax, a campaign to avail of those funds made good sense.
